Description

The Skill Attack is the perfect individual volleyball training tool with a ball release point of over 5′, not from floor level like other volleyball machines. It will deliver thousands of reps in daily practice of serve receiving, setting and digging with accuracy and repeatability. Designed for young serious players and individual practice at home as well as competitive club or school youth teams.

Serving: The Skill Attack offers a full range of spins to deliver every type of drill including serves with either sharp downspins or breaking floaters at speeds up to 45+ MPH. It is easily rolled along the serving baseline, changing the angle of serves.

Spiking: The Skill Attack volleyball machine is great for digging drills on the same side of the net with power and accuracy.

Setting: Providing rapid reps at varying intervals, the Skill Attack will provide accurate and consistent soft sets with no spin at any angle and height.

Horizontal throwing head movement with NEW quick-release knob allows you to point ball delivery in any direction, working a player’s weak side to really extend any range.

Vertical movement coupled with the horizontal movement, means you can instantly throw the ball to any point on the court, creating game situations & challenging players to perform in progressively more difficult circumstances.

Portability: NEW quick-disconnect leg design allows this small agile unit to be easily and quickly rolled anywhere on the court or in your backyard or garage.

Storage: The Skill Attack will easily fit through any standard door for safe storage. This unit will also break down instantly for easy transportation; it will fit in the trunk of any car.

The frame of the Skill Attack is powder-coated, rust-resistant steel tubing for extreme durability.

The sturdy tri-pod provides stability and ease of movement using lockable, non-marking casters.

Two variable speed motors directly drive two indestructible 6.5″ diameter ball-throwing wheels. Almost instant recovery provides rapid repetition, no waiting for air-powered launch system to recover.

FAQs

What levels of programs purchase the Skill Attack volleyball machine?
The Skill Attack was designed for young serious players and individual practice at home as well as competitive club or school youth teams. It will do everything the larger units will do except for the limited ball release height (set at 5 ft.) and the lower speed (maximum is 45+ MPH).

Can the Skill Attack do a full range of drills?
Yes, the Skill Attack can do digging, serving and team coordination drills. Serving drills: Consistent repetition of a full range of speeds and spins including jump serves, breaking top spins, and floaters. Digging drills: Ball released from the same side of the net provides a downward trajectory and effective spike simulation for digging. Team coordination drills: Throwing head pivots instantly to any point on the court, at a full range of speeds or spin, from any height. This provides a realistic game simulation involving serves, sets, tosses, passes, hits, or spikes.

How is the Skill Attack moved around the court?
The Skill Attack volleyball machine has locking casters that provide instant mobility on the court.

What is the range of ball speeds the Skill Attack machine can deliver and how do you change the speed?
The Skill Attack will deliver a serve at speeds up to 45+ MPH. The speed is quickly adjusted using the speed dials.

What adjustment is required on the machine to change placement of the ball on the court?
This can be done simply by loosening the horizontal and vertical locking handles, allowing the throwing head to freely pivot side-to-side or up-and-down to instantly target any location on the court.

What is the recovery time between throws for the machine?
There is no recovery time necessary. Sports Attack volleyball machines can deliver rapid repetition for any drill. (Some competitive units require a recharging every 8- 10 balls.)

How does the Skill Attack volleyball machine compare to the AirCAT machine in performance?
The Skill Attack has a throwing head that easily pivots (no need to move entire machine), delivering balls to any location on the court. Spin, speed and tempo can be adjusted instantly between throws. Comparatively, with the AirCAT the entire machine (on wheels) must be moved to introduce variation. The AirCAT can not impart a spin as the ball is propelled by air.

How is the Skill Attack most commonly transported?
The machine can easily fit through a gym door and can be transported in a any size car, even a Mini Cooper.

What is an acceptable length for an extension cord and what type do I need?
The machine uses a minimum of #14/3 grounded power cord up to 200 ft. in length. A longer cord will require the opinion of a licensed electrician.

What are the full load operating amps for the volleyball machine?
The volleyball machine draws 1.5 amps when running; however a 20-amp service is recommended for continuous operation.

Can the machine be operated with a generator?
Yes, however the generator must generate “clean electricity”. We recommend a minimum of 1000W up to 2000W Honda generator with inverter technology. Weight of these generators is approximately 27 LBS., similar to the weight of a battery, and they are extremely portable.

How long does it take to receive a volleyball machine?
Sports Attack, located in Reno, NV, can typically ship a machine in the U.S. within 3-5 business days.

What type of assembly is necessary upon first receipt of my new Attack and is there any special tools required?
The Skill Attack volleyball machine can be assembled in less than 20 minutes. Easy-to-follow instructions are included in our manual; all you will need are two standard wrenches, (1/2″ and 7/16″).

What is the warranty on the Skill Attack?
We stand behind the material and workmanship of our machines as well as all wear components (i.e., throwing wheels, controllers, and motors) for a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase based on the serial number and date codes on the unit.

How is repair and service handled for the volleyball machines?
Components parts are designed to be easily replaced in the field, local assistance is not required. Parts list is available in the manuals that are found on the website. Simply identify part needed, order part directly from Sports Attack and follow easy directions for repair. Only a few common tools are required to complete any repair.

FUNCTION SPORTS ATTACK WHEEL-PROPELLED MACHINES AIR-PROPELLED MACHINES
Machine Performance Throwing head pivots easily delivering ball to any location on the court. Spin, speed and tempo can be adjusted instantly between throws. More difficult to place ball, must move the entire machine to introduce variation. Air propelled arm will not impart a spin on ball.
Release Point Realistic – elevates from 5′ to well above men’s net, over 9′ 3″. Pivots up to only 6′ (well below both men’s and women’s net height).
Speed Few moving parts, heavy duty welded powder-coated steel frame. Sets, tosses and claims “hard” spikes and serves, but no actual speed is stated. (Lower release point requires ball to arc in order to clear net height.)
Durability Few moving parts, heavy duty welded powder-coated steel frame. Complicated air pressure system installed in metal frame encapsulated in a plastic shell.
Feeding and Tempo Coach can control tempo by feeding continuously or delays. No recovery time is ever needed. The speed, angle and spin are instantly controlled by the coach with each serve, set or spike. Air-propelled machine can be set to toss up to 1100 balls per hour (one ball every 3.28 seconds). However, recovery time is necessary after rapid fire of 8 –10 balls./td>
Ball Use and Wear New design includes specialized throwing wheels that are shaped to grip the ball with even pressure across a wide 4″ span to increase velocity and minimize ball wear. No specific ball required.
Digging With the Attack & Attack II the ball is released from above the net, a true downward trajectory at high speeds, providing unmatched spike simulation with realistic reaction time for the ultimate digging drills. Not capable of delivering a true spike over a regulation net. Spike drill must be performed from same side of net, below net height, severely limiting ball travel distance & player’s reaction time.
Serving Up to jump serve speeds and release point. Breaking top spins and floaters. No spin limits serve to a simple floater. Low release point requires an arc to clear net & slower speeds to keep in court.
Visibility Can see the ball from feed to delivery, providing a true sense of timing. True visual timing has to be based on ball movement. Player’s timing must be based on a small light seen from across the court and an unrealistic “buzzer.”

Great product without the upgrade

We purchased Skill Attack machine with the budget that we have. While I'd prefer to upgrade this works great for our team and club. Boys and girls. Especially for our regional and local teams.

Great investment

While there's more expensive units out there the Skill is not cheap. However, it's a great investment. We use it more at home in the driveway than anywhere else. It allows our daughter to practice a lot of drills that would otherwise be done in the gym. We've also volunteered to bring it to practices as well. It's pretty compact and easy enough to transport. Wish kids sports these days weren't so expensive, but such is life.

great for youth and competitive volleyball

We purchased for our parish as we're always short handed so it's been a blessing. This thing is perfect for the younger players. We also use it for my older son's team. There are some other options for high level competition, but works great for fundamental drills 12-18 set (as far as I'm concerned).

Quality

These are certainly an investment, but when your program can only afford 1.5 coaches this is a life saver. I can get through drills much faster and provide my players with better training. Highly recommend.
